吉田賢明先生による「Empagliflozin Ameliorates Experimental Pulmonary Vascular Remodeling, but May Not Benefit Patients With Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension」がJournal of the American Heart Associationに掲載されました。本研究は肺動脈性肺高血圧症（PAH）患者由来の微小肺血管内皮細胞（MVECs）を用い、MVECsにおけるsodium glucose cotransporter 2（SGLT2）の細胞増殖能に対する役割を明らかにした一方、少数のPAH患者に対してSGLT2阻害薬の投与を12週間を行ったところ（ClinicalTrials.gov NCT05493371）、忍容性は得られたものの右室機能障害の可能性が示唆された結果となり、これらを併せて報告した内容となっています。
